D’Margio Wright-Phillips has signed a new deal at English Championship outfit Stoke City. The news of his contract extension was announced by the club at the end of last month. D’Margio Wright-Phillips is the son of former Premier League star Shaun Wright-Phillips. D’Margio Wright-Phillips would be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Shaun Wright-Phillips by playing in the Premier League.
D’Margio Wright-Phillips has been very impressive since he broke into the first team at Stoke City and he scored his first senior goal for the club last month during the 3-2 defeat at the hands of leaders Fulham in the English Championship last month. On his contract extension, Stoke City manager Michael O’Neill praised the attitude of the player. According to the former Northern Ireland national team manager, he has been impressed with D’Margio and his attitude to work before adding that he’s always willing to learn.
Stoke City youngster D’Margio Wright-Phillips is not only the son of Shaun Wright-Phillips, but he’s also the grandson of Arsenal legend Ian Wright.
Ian Wright was the record goalscorer at Arsenal before it was broken by Frenchman Thierry Henry. He won the Premier League title with Arsenal during the 1997/98 season. The Wright family is known for football and it’s not surprising that D’Margio is making waves in their Championship.
